Why Ignisware
After helping scale Divvy from 30 employees to 200+, building out platform engineering, IT support, and security teams along the way, we watched the company get acquired by Bill.com for $2.5 billion in 2021.
We founded Ignisware to bring that same enterprise-grade expertise to startups and growing companies who need it most but can't justify a full platform team. Today that means building and running Kubernetes platforms on AWS, GitOps delivery, compliance programs, and the migrations that get companies off infrastructure they've outgrown.
Our Team
Deric Abel, Director of Platform Engineering & Cloud
Deric has spent nearly twenty years across Linux systems, DevOps, and cloud, and now focuses on platform engineering: Kubernetes on AWS, GitOps with Flux and Argo CD, infrastructure as code, and the developer experience around them. He holds a Computer Science degree from Weber State University.
As an early employee at Divvy, he built and led the platform, IT support, and IT security teams, establishing the infrastructure foundation that supported the company through hypergrowth and a $2.5B acquisition. Before that he ran technical operations at a fintech and modernized delivery at a university and a health sciences company.
Recent client work includes migrating production workloads from ECS to EKS, replacing a self-managed search cluster with PostgreSQL, and taking a sub-10 person fintech through SOC2 Type 1 while cutting its AWS bill by 42%.
Justin Sharp, Staff Engineer
Justin brings over ten years of experience in cloud infrastructure, networking, and software engineering. He worked alongside Deric at Divvy during the company's critical scaling phase from 30 to nearly 200 employees, and leads application platform and SSO integration work for Ignisware clients.
